My idea...

I just thought I'd share this quickly; I had a couple of friends ask me how the Savannah room ended up after being finished. It is, unfortunatly, not yet completed (it still needs some finishing touches, simply becuase I had become too pregnant and huge last year to finish it!!!), but it's mostly done! I've been wanting to do pics in there with Peighton evern since she was a newborn, but with the craziness and poor lighting in there I just couldn't do it. Well, till now! I went in there to get her out of bed in the morning, and the lighting was SO much better than it usually is! So I quick stripped her and plopped her on the floor! haha! Poor thing....I'm surprised she did as well as she did, being that she hadn't even had her breakfast yet! Anyway, I'd like to get some more being that the 'session' went so quickly, but I'm happy at least getting what I got!

Just in case you are wondering, it's the foreground that needs some final touches....theres going to be some grass added to the bottom part of the walls and around some of the animals (including the ones you can't see here!), but it was so low that I just couldn't bend over to do it last year! And my excuse now? I need to mix more paint. :)

And...

I can't forget about the little sister! She was sleeping when we did the other session (well, you'll see it below), and it just didn't work out with all three of them, so she got her own session! I really can't believe how time flies! She's 8 months old now, and I honestly still think of her as my little tiny new-newborn. Only when my clients come over with their new little ones am I reminded of how old she has gotten!

All I really have to say about these pictures is that I. Love. Babies. SERIOUSLY! They are totally my favorite...newborns are my first love I'll admit, followed closly by this age group. But I could just squeese them all! To everyone out there: Start having more babies! And then call me!!! haha!

My own sessions :)

Yes, somehow I manage to sneek in a session or two for my own children....although to be honest I'm not sure where the time comes from! I've had such a difficult time lately managing my work time and my family time. I'm sure every other mother out there right now can completely relate, but honestly, it can be so hard! So I figure if in doubt of what to do next, just take more pictures. It's worked everytime ;)

Although it is worth noting that Addison had to be bribed for this session! She's definatly not my little model anymore, which makes me sad, but I suppose sh'es put in a good 6 years, so I'll give her a break ;)  Carson on the other hand is a little ham (as anyone that's met him knows!), and I think it's something that totally shines through in his pictures! Kids are so amazing! I really can't imagine life without them.......either my own or those that I have the privlidge of photographing!

Oohhhh.....

Don't tell me....can it really be? Has it REALLY been since February? I about fell off my chair when I saw that this evening! Life has been SO busy, but it must be especially evident here since there is a huge lack of posts!!!

Just in case anyone out there is wondering, I AM currently taking on some new clients for portrait sessions. I do like to think that I'm taking some time off still this summer just to spend with the family, but not doing the weddings this season has made a HUGE difference in that area. And although I do miss them, it's been so wonderful to be with the kids so much! Plus we have many, many, MANY home projects that will be taking place soon, and I'm glad to know that I'll have the time to be here to help make that happen (well, sort of...I can't exactly reside our house, but I suppose I can be here to write the guys a check!).

I thought, since it has been so long since I've posted, that I would take the time to post some pics from some somewhat recent sessions. Some took place earlier in the year, but some pics are just too cute for me to not share with you!!! So anyway, below I'll be sharing some of my favorites!

And as a small sidenote, for those of you who haven't been here lately, we had some water damage in the studio. So some of my *brand new* floor had to be ripped out! The horror!!! (we're still waiting for it to be reinstalled). Hopefully it will be completed within the next few weeks, and I can get back to sessions as normal, and finish 'finishing' the studio!!!

I have to admit that this little chic is one of my *favorite* clients! She is just the most adorable little thing ever, and she always has something new for me!

I totally forget what she was laughing at, but it must have been funny!!!....

Kai was such a sweet little rocker-dude! He was a busy 1yr old, as they all are, but SO much fun!

I had the honor of photographing this young man on his BIG 4th birthday! We had a blast indoors and out, but I think the outdoor portraits were my fav :)

How big is baby?

SSOOO big!!! Gosh I can't believe how fast it is all going by! Our little one turned 4mths yesterday. 4 months! I just can't even believe it! So yesterday we celebrated by taking some photos of her. Unfortunatly, even though she has a photographer for a mother, she is still subject to the third child syndrome; we missed her 3 mth pictures! Although I do have good reason (unfortunatly!). Her big sis and bro have been taking turns being sick, and it's sucked any and all 'free time' out of my days!!!

Well, I'd better go already, as I hear peanut wimpering in her bassinet :)  I have a couple sessions coming up that I'm incredibly excited to do, and we'll be leaving for Florida at the end of this week as well. The next 7 days are going to go by quikly!!! Hopefully I'll get a chance to update things again before we go, as I have some favs from a recent session that I'd love to share (she was SUCH a doll!).

A quick note...

I'm technically still on maternity leave so I can soak up every second of my kids right now (especially since we just had another birthday! Addison is 6 today!), but things have been more delayed than usual, even at this point in life, becuase of illnesses! Addi has strep (and thankfully no one else had caught it as of today...knock on wood!), Carson has had some serious ezcema issues flare up again (although it's not too surprizing for this time of year - hydrocortisone here we come!), Peighton is on meds for Thrush (as am I unfortunatly!), and well, we are just one big happy family!!!

I still have a few sessions coming up that have been on the books for a while now, and one (another newborn! I can't wait to meet you little Conner!) that will happen as soon as my home is strep-free!!!

Also, I just realized that the site is still in need of some updating. I dont' often just visit my own site unless there is something to work on, and with the craziness of these last months I have forgotten that there are still pages that need some info on them! I'll be slowly working on them to finish everything up.

Time to go! The babes are all sleeping snug in their beds, and it's time for mommy to get some work done! Take care, and I wish everyone a healthy, safe and BLESSED 2007!!!

It's a bird, it's a plane....

....it's Santa?!! The kids and I have been keeping track of Santa's journey so far online. It looks like he was last spotted in Cairo, Egypt a little over an hour ago. How amazing! I wish I could have tracked Santa's journey when I was a kid! We are getting ready to bake some cookies for the big guy in a bit here, but first we had to unwrap our traditional Christmas Eve present, carried over from when I was a child, which has always been a new pair of jammies. Addi is now adorned in Bambie, and Carson in Little Einstein (from the Disney show). They were/are so excited! Now if they could only tear open the rest of the bulging, shiney, twinkling tempting little packages resting so peacefully under the tree! Oh the torture!

I really can't believe that Christmas will be here so soon already. This year has flown by so quickly! I won't be writing much tonight, but thought I'd share our Christmas visit with Santa from the other week. They were so excited to see him, and he was unbelieveably sweet; just the way Santa ought to be! We visited him at the Rivertown mall, and although we didn't get much else accomplished that day (I had these fantasies that I would also get all of my Christmas shopping done!!!), it was one of our most successful visits yet ;)

It's that time of year

Yes, it's once again that time of the year; the time where I frantically get my friends in for family sessions so that they can once again send out their happy usually-smiling faces for all the world to enjoy! :)  Here is what came of our past session this past weekend with my good (and absolutly wonderful! I love you!) friend Jen and her family. If you can't tell, our kids have/had a blast with each other! I think they should all be models :)

And, FYI, this is why I will never be able to bring my children to 'bring your daughter/son to work day'!!! HAHA!

As shocking as it may be, even photographer moms need to break out the regular on-camera flash pictures every so often, even though it is painful! I wanted to take some pics of Peighton the other day because she looked so adorable hanging out in her swing, but it was so dark outside! So I had to go for it :) This is peanut as of not too long ago. Please excuse the on camera flash :)
